The events hosted by colleges, private companies, municipal governments, arts groups and/or film societies are film festivals. Deep Focus Film Festival offer a venue for unknown filmmakers to get their films in front of a true live audience and have objective critics review their films. Filmmakers whose films are admitted into a festival often receive valuable attention from the press and exposure to potential agents and customers, not to mention, if they win, an often sizeable cash prize. The aim of the Deep Focus Film Festival is to foster an atmosphere in which independent filmmakers have an opportunity to understand the reactions of the audience to their work. Their purpose is to provide thoughtful input from a competent filmmaker and peer for each selected film.
